Yoga classes in Plymouth

As holistic health practitioners we love anything that can help bring tranquillity and balance to the mind and body.

Neither of us are the best at yoga but we do ensure we incorporate it into our lives whether that be with short daily 10 minute practices to bring a sense of calm to our minds and to give relief in stretches to our body or a class in one of the lovely places we have listed below.

We have been pleasantly surprised by how many rejuvenating, calm spaces there are offering yoga and other classes such a breath work and meditation in Plymouth. We’ve had the pleasure of experiencing some of these classes and some we have yet to try but they are on our list to visit!

Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or just beginning your journey, there’s a class here for you.

1. Space to Move Yoga

On our radar for quite some time, Space to Move Yoga seems to encapsulate a holistic approach to wellness. Their extensive offerings range from sessions designed for kids, and specialised pregnancy yoga to physio yoga.

Committed to inner and outer well-being, they offer not just yoga but dance, meditation, and other wellness programs. Whether you’re a newbie seeking balance or a veteran looking for deeper meditation, we think this space is wonderful.

2. Yogablend – Yoga and Pilates

Yogablend merges the age-old traditions of yoga with the modern intricacies of pilates. Their array of classes, be it the heat-infused hot yoga, the rhythmic flow of vinyasa, the contemplative yin, or the foundational Hatha, ensures that every yogi finds their niche.

This is a great option for people wanting to try different forms of yoga. The studio exudes a warm ambience, balancing the right amount of challenge with relaxation.

3. Bliss Yoga

There’s a unique magic in doing yoga outdoors. And Bliss Yoga magnifies that magic by choosing the serene backdrop of Plymouth Sound.

Imagine striking a pose, breathing in the fresh sea air, all while overlooking the glistening waters. Although they’re weather-dependent, each session is a rejuvenating retreat.

4. C & J Fitness

We love these guys for their bootcamp style fitness classes and tailored 6, 8 and 12 weeks programes to help people reach their fitness goals. They have recently introduced a Sunday yoga session which is proving very popular.

If you are more into your cardiovascular fitness and weight sessions we would strongly suggest cooling down at the end of the week with a yoga session. It’s still a great workout and will help aid recovery.

4. Courtney Black App

Yoga can be quite a personal journey and I know myself I have felt vulnerable joining new classes before so I really love this app because it means I can get all of the benefits of yoga but do it in my own time and space.

I found this app in lockdown and I still use it now. The sessions with Frilly Hyde help we reset and become present with my body whilst also challenging me.

The Courtney Black Fitness App offers pre and postnatal fitness classes and yoga (this is what I am using at the moment) but it also offers tailored exercise plans, HIIT and weighted workouts.

From intensive workouts to delectable recipes, it makes fitness accessible, enjoyable, and, most importantly, effective. It’s also cheaper than a gym membership or paying for classes at £15.99 per month.

Conclusion: Yoga classes in Plymouth

We have just touched on a few spaces here which each offer a unique experience to you yogi’s or those wanting to try it for the first time. We hope you find it helpful.

Whether you’re aiming for inner peace, flexibility, or just a momentary escape from the hustle, we hope you find something that suits you. May your pursuit of the best yoga classes in Plymouth lead you to newfound balance and tranquillity. Namaste!
